Optical Systems Design and Manufacturing Services
|
By making use of modern optical components (see below) and manufacturing techniques, MIOsys is able to produce robust and reliable designs which can be readily manufactured. Emphasis is placed on conservative engineering design through a thorough understanding of the optical and mechanical tolerances. |

Micro-optics
Cylindrical micro-optics and moulded aspheric lenses underpin most of MIOsys' designs. When applied to systems utilising laser diodes, beam transformation can be effected which offers significant improvements in brightness over more traditional approaches whilst minimising footprints and component costs. |
| |
|
These are based on high-power laser diodes and make use of the micro-optics referred to above. Module performance is ultimately limited by choice of laser diode with typically up to 10W being delivered from silica fibres of core diameter 100-200µm along with 635nm aiming beams. All modules conform to the appropriate international safety requirements. |

Optical Instruments
The process spectrograph shown in the photo is one of many instruments designed and produced by MIOsys. Others include spectrometers (NIR, laser Raman), IR transmissometers, laser scanners, micrographics and document examination instruments. |
| |
|
MIOsys and its associates have an enormous cumulative expertise in this area dating back to the first commercial availability of laser diodes around 1980. Our experience base covers applications of single/multimode, low/high-power, violet/red/NIR, fibre-coupled, scanned and frequency-stabilised devices including their thermal and electrical control. |
